BART's Newest Director to Be Sworn in by Willie Brown.

OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 2003

Lynette Sweet of San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden , who was named by the BART Board last Thursday to fill the seat vacated by Willie B. Kennedy, will be officially sworn into office by San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown The name Willie Brown may refer to:
  • Willie Brown (politician) (born 1934), Mayor of San Francisco (1996–2004), Speaker of the California State Assembly (1980–1995)
  • Willie Brown (football player) (born 1940), American football Hall-of-Fame cornerback
 Wednesday, Feb. 26 at City Hall.

The swearing in ceremony will take place in the Mayor's office at 5 p.m.

Sweet, who is the executive director of the Bayview Hunters Point Hunters Point refers to the following places:
  • Hunters Point, San Francisco, California
  • Hunters Point, Queens, New York
  • Hunterspoint Avenue (LIRR station)
 Center for Arts and Technology (BAYCAT), a non-profit learning center for the community, will officially take her seat at the BART Board's next regularly scheduled meeting Thursday, Feb. 27. She will represent District 7 which stretches across the bay and includes portions of Alameda Alameda (ăləmē`də, –mā`də), city (1990 pop. 76,459), Alameda co., W central Calif., on an island just off the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay; settled 1850, inc. as a city 1884.  and Contra Costa Contra Costa can refer to:
  • Contra Costa County, California
  • Contra Costa (railroad ferryboat)
 Counties.

Sweet said she was looking forward to working with her fellow members on the BART Board and to help meet the challenges that face the system in the years ahead.

"BART is a great system and so important to the Bay Area and I will be working hard on behalf of residents in the three counties I will be representing," Sweet said.
