BART's Expanded Long-Term Parking Will Begin Monday.

In an effort to make long-term parking more convenient, BART will expand its long-term parking program beginning this coming Monday, March 1.

The expanded program calls for long-term parking to be available at all of BART's East Bay stations where there is parking. Currently, only three East Bay BART stations are designated to provide long-term parking: El Cerrito Del Norte, Walnut Creek and Bay Fair. Long-term parking is primarily used by people who are traveling out of the area and taking BART to the San Francisco or Oakland Airports. However, anyone taking BART and needing to park for more than 24 hours should reserve the space.

Additionally, according to BART officials, the cost to reserve a space for longer than 24 hours will now cost $5.00 a day, reduced from $7.00 a day. Under the new program, there will be no attendant.

The revised program will require that long-term parking spaces be reserved and paid for in advance. Reservations and payment can be handled on-line.
