"There's no point in having someone there who is yelling at people and not quite doing their job. He's been fantastic on the pitch and he's been fantastic off the pitch."

Foster believes that Galway's reserve 'keeper Ger Hanley, a Republic of Ireland under-19 international, has a great role model in Ryan.

Foster said: "He's an inspiration to the young players, in particular young Ger Hanley. He only has to look at Barry every day and see what it takes to become a Premier Division goalkeeper."
