I WAS very disappointed to read the war of words between Everton and their former captain, Alan Stubbs Alan Stubbs (born October 6 1971 in Kirkby) is an English footballer who currently plays for Everton. It's even more upsetting when the club has to defend itself against alleged comments made by a player who had previously enjoyed a good relationship with supporters and everybody else at Goodison. But it should be pointed out that in 99.9 per cent of cases, a footballer's contract does not reflect what he has done for a football club, but what he is likely to do. It would be better for all parties concerned if the matter was now put to bed |
