BARON'S BED FEATURED IN WHITE HOUSE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE

COLUMBIA, S.C., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Railroad Baron's Bed(R), as seen in Warner Brother's new release "Dave" has come a long way from its inception in a sleepy, Southern city. The American original plays center stage with Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Klein in the White House Presidential suite scenes. The American classic has been seen for years in Architectural Digest and is currently owned by some 300 North and South American collectors and entrepreneurs.
Its designer, Michael Craig and promoter, Rosemarie MacFarlane create and sell this bed from their "benchmade" furniture shop with 26 employees in Columbia, S.C. "We've taken the furniture industry back 150 years, where we think it should have stayed," quips Michael Craig, president of his 21-year-old establishment, M. Craig & Company Cabinetmakers. The Craig's turn-of-the-century facility is situated amongst brick-paved streets and large cotton warehouses in the city's historical Congaree Vista district.
Nationally-acclaimed interior designer, Michael Taylor, chose the bed for the Presidential Boudoir because of the elegant, masculine, distinctly American presence.
The bed's design was inspired by America's Federal or Empire period, a grand time in our country's history. Our nation was coming into its own then while embracing its musicians, planting vineyards and building its railroad stations that serviced our flourishing economy.
The furniture depicted in the Presidential suite scenes celebrates the current renaissance of that time when "Made in America" meant world class product. The Railroad Baron's Bed and accompanying pieces are sold exclusively through the trade and can be seen in major cities' design centers. Portfolio and information available, call 803-254-5994.
