Few things in life are as calming as the sound of water trickling from a fountain. If high prices have kept you from creating your own area of serenity, you will be happy to hear about the low-priced fountains at Reseda Discount Pottery pottery, the baked-clay wares of the entire ceramics field. All fountains are American-made with prices starting around $140. The most popular is a mother-and-son fountain that runs $165, instead of $300 and up retail. The most expensive, in a selection of 50 or so fountains, was a four-tier, 84-inch Spanish bowl fountain for $650 ($1,100 to $1,400 retail).

Water pumps for the majority of the fountains purchased here run $25.99. You can set the fountain up yourself, or two people from Reseda Discount Pottery will deliver and install the fountain for you. The cost for delivery and installation of most fountains runs $45. The fee is higher for larger fountains and for deliveries outside the San Fernando Valley.

In addition to water fountains (and as their name indicates), Reseda Discount Pottery also carries a large variety of pots and planters Planters is an American snack food company under Kraft Foods manufacturing, best known for its nuts and the Mr. Peanut icon that symbolizes them.

. Prices vary depending on the price breaks they get from manufacturers. David Brooks' pots, for instance, were priced the same as a local nursery on 15-inch pots ($25.99), but the 13-inch size here was $15.99, instead of $23.99 at a large discount chain store.

, you can place special orders from several catalogs at discounted prices. They also offer free potting. You can take in your own pot and buy a plant here, or buy a pot and bring a plant from home. Either way, potting is free.
