BARGAINS : CARS GO UNDER COVER.

Byline: Trisha King & Deborah Newmark

Whether your car is worth thousands of dollars or maybe just a few hundred, you'll want to protect it from the elements. Covercraft Outlet Store An outlet store or factory outlet is a retail store in which manufacturers sell their stock directly to the public through their own branded stores. The stores can be can be brick and mortar or online.  in Canoga Park sells covers for cars and trucks in a variety of sizes and materials and at deeply discounted prices.

For example, the most popular seller is Covercraft's Technalon ready-fit cover for cars in the 15- to 16-foot range. If you were to purchase this cover in a discount automotive chain store, you would pay about $130. The price at the outlet store is $40.

For the most part, the car covers at the outlet store are returns from chain stores, usually because of fit. The covers are examined before being offered for sale, and the ``flaws'' are usually tire smudges occurring when the vehicle owner tried the cover on for size. As Covercraft manufacturers tens of thousands of covers annually, it's less expensive to sell the covers as-is than to have them cleaned and repackaged. Selection varies from visit to visit.

Covercraft's specialty is custom covers, and over the years, it has amassed well over 50,000 patterns. A custom cover is one made for a specific year and make of vehicle, i.e., the cover is not only made to fit a particular vehicle's dimensions, but also has pockets for the mirrors.

Custom covers are, of course, more expensive. A custom cover for a Corvette corvette, small warship, classed between a frigate and a sloop-of-war. Corvettes usually were flush-decked and carried fewer than 28 guns. They were widely employed in escorting convoys and attacking merchant ships during the great naval wars of the late 18th and  that retails for about $175 runs $60, when available. Speaking of availability, the selection in the outlet store is just the tip of the proverbial pro·ver·bi·al

Because ice is slightly less dense than water about one ninth of the total mass of a berg projects above the water. . Most of the inventory is warehoused, so ask if you don't see a cover that will fit your car or truck.

If by chance they don't have the right cover, give them your name and you'll be called when it becomes available. Other accessories are sold at the outlet (tailgate A conversion layer that lets IDE devices connect to the IEEE 1394 Firewire interface.  nets were $15 instead of $30, Sunbrella watercraft covers were $50 rather than $140 to $189 retail), and if you have a classic or antique antique. The term has been used collectively to designate classical Greek and Roman works of art, particularly sculptures; as an adjective to indicate an object, a period, or a style of ancient or early times; and as a noun, for objects of art, furniture, rugs,  vehicle that needs a custom cover, special orders are welcome.
