Other projects supported by the symphony include its Conejo and Ventura youth orchestras, ''Music's Alive`` series and other youth artists's performances, event organizers said.

Nancy Turrill, owner of the Foxfield Riding Academy, said Sunday's event gave the girls the chance to perform their talents for a worthy cause.

''We like to be sure they do a certain amount of charity work,`` said Turrill, who donates the grounds of her center as a fund-raising site each year to help promote the New West Symphony. ''Through this experience, they learn to give.``
