) and BARCO announce an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  agreement for Hybrid-Fiber Coax network management. The agreement calls for BARCO to embed em·bed   also im·bed

key components of AM's OmniStatTM network management solution into its ROSA network management system. Specifically, ROSA will incorporate AM's family of hardware products for headend and outside plant management. In turn, BARCO has agreed to undertake development with AM to ensure that BARCO's line of headend and hub equipment can be managed directly by AM's OmniStat.

"This agreement is a win for both parties and a win for broadband operators worldwide," said Harry Tankin, AM's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "AM and BARCO benefit by strengthening their respective network management portfolios through leveraging the other's technologies. Ironically, one would think ROSA and OmniStat are competitive solutions. Instead, each offers complementary content and capabilities providing more robust and complete solutions," continued Tankin. "Further, by taking into account BARCO's worldwide position, coupled with the reality of multi-vendor headends and hubs, AM's ability to extend its integrated headend management capability through this relationship will benefit the operator community," concluded Tankin.

Jos Vancoppernolle, VP of BARCO and General Manager of BARCO Communication Systems, said, "Establishing an OEM agreement with AM puts BARCO in a favorable position Noun 1. favorable position - the quality of being at a competitive advantage

This agreement with AM was possible because both of our companies share the same product philosophy of open architectures."

AM Communications is the broadband industry's leading provider of plant and headend management solutions. AM's solutions provide network operators with greater control over their network's performance levels and reliability, giving them a competitive edge in today's deregulated communications environment. Through partnerships, AM Communications has emerged as a true open systems company capable of supporting multi-vendor networks through cooperative engineering. Registered under ISO- iso- or is-
