BARCO Offers MAC Users a More Affordable Solution for Color Calibration.SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 1996--BARCO announces its new MAC-based color accurate Personal Calibrator Display (PCD PCD polycystic disease. ). The 21" (20" V) monitor offers affordable open calibration by allowing the end user to utilize existing, external calibration devices. The display currently supports Light Source's Colortron hand-held spectrophotometer spectrophotometer, instrument for measuring and comparing the intensities of common spectral lines in the spectra of two different sources of light. The program is currently available for use with MAC OS 7.5 systems. The pixel resolution of the Personal Calibrator is multiscanning up to 1600 x 1200. The display also comes equipped with a digital stabilization circuit to guarantee greyscale consistency, perfect color and tone reproduction over time, eliminating dark tone shift problems. Like BARCO's Megacalibrator and Reference Calibrator, the Personal Calibrator incorporates BARCO's Automatic Kinescope kinescope /kine·scope/ (-skop) an instrument for ascertaining ocular refraction.
