systems

BARCO, a leading manufacturer of video and graphics display technology, has introduced the BarcoReality 9200 DLC and BarcoReality 8200 DLC -- the first in a new family of Digital Light Valve projectors.

Both the BarcoReality 9200 DLC and BarcoReality 8200 DLC feature a Serial Digital Input using the 4:2:2 standard, providing an "all-digital" path from input to final display for unsurpassed digital video quality. In addition, both units are equipped with True Color (1) Specifically, refers to 16,777,216 colors (24-bit color). See high color.

(2) Generically, refers to photo-realistic color (typically requires 24-bit color as a minimum).

) technology for perfect color display and uniformity over the entire screen, as well as perfect color tracking and gamma correction An adjustment to the light intensity (brightness) of a scanner, monitor or printer in order to match the output more closely to the original image. A gamma correction imposes the complement of the "tone curve" in order to flatten the line and bring the gamma closer to the ideal 1. . The TCR PLUS program reduces noise in the video signal and improves the contrast ratio, producing smoother yet sharper images -- especially with video.

Equipped with an extremely powerful, state-of-the-art optical system driven by a 1,800-watt metal-halide lamp, the BarcoReality 9200 DLC produces a very high light output of 6,000 lumens full white on screens up to 50 feet wide. The 650-watt lamp in the BarcoReality 8200 DLC provides a light output of 2,600 lumens. Both projectors have three 5.8-inch, active-matrix LCD panels with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels and a built-in proprietary Pixel Map Processor, which enables the units to display resolutions of up to 2000 x 1280 pixels.

Super-high brightness and resolution, plus compatibility with a wide range of computer, workstation and video sources, make the BarcoReality 9200 DLC and BarcoReality 8200 DLC ideal choices for the most demanding applications in high ambient light conditions, such as rental and staging applications, large screen presentations, process control rooms, simulation centers, and virtual reality centers.

"BARCO again demonstrates its leadership in large screen display technology with the introduction of a new category in projection -- the Digital Light Cannon," said Steven Barlow, product group manager, large screen displays, for BARCO, Inc. "The Serial Digital Input in the BarcoReality 9200 DLC and BarcoReality 8200 DLC provides unprecedented image quality by causing the image to remain in the digital domain all the way from input to final LCD display."

The BarcoReality 9200 DLC and BarcoReality 8200 DLC can optionally be equipped with BARCO's MOCA MOCA Museum of Contemporary Art
MOCA Multimedia over Coax
