Digital Light Cannon projection systems

BARCO, a leading manufacturer of video and graphics display technology, has added another member to its new family of Digital Light Cannons: the BarcoData 3300 DLC.

Based on the proven concept of the BarcoData 3200 with a new 700 watt metal-halide lamp, the BarcoData 3300 DLC produces an extremely high light output of 1,400 lumens. The unit has three 3.2 inch active matrix LCD panels Also called a "projection panel," it is a data projector that accepts computer output and displays it on a see-through liquid crystal screen that is placed on top of an overhead projector. See data projector.  with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and a built-in Pixel Map Processor, which enable the unit to display all sources from VHS (Video Home System) A half-inch, analog videocassette recorder (VCR) format introduced by JVC in 1976 to compete with Sony's Betamax, introduced a year earlier.  Video up to 1280 x 1024 pixel workstations.

Like the BarcoReality Series of Digital Light Cannon projectors, the BarcoData 3300 DLC completes the digital video chain with a Serial Digital Input using the 4:2:2 standard, resulting in unsurpassed digital video quality. In addition, it is equipped with True Color (1) Specifically, refers to 16,777,216 colors (24-bit color). See high color.

(2) Generically, refers to photo-realistic color (typically requires 24-bit color as a minimum).

) for perfect color display and uniformity over the entire screen, as well as perfect color tracking and gamma correction An adjustment to the light intensity (brightness) of a scanner, monitor or printer in order to match the output more closely to the original image. A gamma correction imposes the complement of the "tone curve" in order to flatten the line and bring the gamma closer to the ideal 1. .

The TCRPlus program reduces noise in the video signal and improves the contrast ratio, producing more appealing images which are smoother and sharper.

"High brightness and resolution, along with an `all digital' path, true color reproduction and compatibility with a wide range of sources, make the BarcoData 3300 DLC the perfect solution for demanding applications in high ambient light conditions," said Steven Barlow, product group manager, large screen displays, for BARCO, Inc.

The features of the BarcoData 3300 DLC make it ideal for a wide-range of applications including rental, broadcast, low-end electronic cinema, training, presentation and point-of-sale.
