BARCO Announces New Powerful, Compact Graphics LCD Projector.

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 1997--

BarcoGraphics 2100 combines light weight and

ease-of-use with power and performance

BARCO, a leading manufacturer of video and graphics display technology, has introduced its first compact, lightweight graphics LCD projector.

The BarcoGraphics 2100 LC combines the ease of use and portability of a small projector with the power and performance of BARCO's professional large screen CRT (1) (C RunTime) See runtime library.

 and LCD light-valve projection systems.

Based on state-of-the art LCD and pixel map processing technology, the BarcoGraphics 2100 LC uses a single high-resolution, full-color XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K.  LCD panel to display all video sources and most computer formats with a resolution of up to 1,280 x 1,024 pixels. A high-brightness, 575 watt metal-halide lamp provides crystal-clear images with a generous light output of up to 700 lumens on screens ranging from 3 to 20 feet.

The compact and lightweight BarcoGraphics 2100 LC can easily be transported and set up by one person in just minutes. User-friendly operation is ensured by intuitive on-screen menus, which are accessible through a convenient backlit An LCD screen that has its own light source from the back of the screen, making the background brighter and characters appear sharper.  infrared remote control See IR remote control. , while image size, shift, zoom, freeze and built-in test patterns enable total control over the projected image.

"The transportability, ease-of-setup and unprecedented range of input source compatibility of the new BarcoGraphics 2100 LC make it an ideal choice for presentations to small or medium-sized audiences, such as in boardrooms, sales presentations, training centers and process control applications," said Steven Barlow, product group manager, large screen displays, for BARCO, Inc.

One active-matrix LCD panel with XGA resolution (1,024 x 768 pixels) in combination with BARCO's integrated intelligent Pixel Map Processor technology enables the BarcoGraphics 2100 LC to display all NTSC (National TV Standards Committee) The committee that developed the television standards for the U.S, which are also used in Canada, Japan, South Korea and several Central and South American countries. Both the committee and the standard are called "NTSC.  video sources and the majority of today s popular computer data/graphics formats, including CGA (Color/Graphics Adapter) The first video display standard for the IBM PC.
