As a result of this reorganization, Banyan expects to record a pre-tax restructuring charge in the range of $3.0 million to $5.0 million in the fourth quarter ending December 31, 1996. The restructuring charge will provide for severance costs related to the elimination of approximately 100 positions, or 15 percent of Banyan's worldwide workforce, facility consolidations and other related costs. Working with its distribution partners, Banyan also announced it plans to substantially reduce its worldwide channel inventories. As a result, the Company expects to decrease product shipments to its channel by approximately $7.0 million to $10.0 million which will result in lower revenues and a loss in the fourth quarter of 1996.
