BANKING group Standard Chartered said [...]; Business IN BRIEF.


BANKING group Standard Chartered said yesterday they planned to raise pounds 1billion through a share placing to fund growth of their eastern businesses.

Standard, who make 90 per cent of profits from Asia, Africa and the Middle East, said economic trends had improved in their markets during the second quarter.
