Schmidt, the 1996 Fernando Award recipient, was honored Thursday night by Valley movers and shakers Shakers, popular name for members of the United Society of Believers in Christ's Second Appearing, also called the Millennial Church. Members of the movement, who received their name from the trembling produced by religious emotion, were also known as Alethians. who praised her for a lifetime of community service. About 150 people attended the black-tie reception and dinner at the Sheraton Universal, where they recognized Schmidt, vice president and manager of American Pacific State Bank, for her activity in community groups. ``Nancy is just a dynamo,'' said David W. Fleming, a past Fernando Award recipient and former president of the 38-year-old organization. ``We try to emulate a lot of her work. She well deserves this award.''
