BANKATLANTIC VOLUNTEERS TO ASK MOTORISTS TO SUPPORT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF BROWARD THIS SATURDAY, NOV. 21

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- Broward motorists will have the chance this Saturday, Nov. 21, to contribute to a BankAtlantic campaign to support Habitat for Humanity of Broward's efforts to eliminate poverty housing in the area. And drivers will be able to help without leaving their cars.
Over 100 BankAtlantic employees wearing bright blue and white volunteer t-shirts and carrying orange collection cans will fan out at nine key intersections this Saturday to ask motorists to contribute any amount they wish to assist Habitat for Humanity's low-income home building activities in Broward County.
Earlier this year BankAtlantic announced a $1 million drive to provide affordable housing for low income families in South Florida. As part of its commitment, BankAtlantic pledged $250,000 to fund zero- interest mortgages for Habitat for Humanity homeowners. At the same time, BankAtlantic founded South Florida alliance for Humanity -- an independent, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to encourage broad community support for Habitat for Humanity and other similar housing programs. The aim of these programs is to provide affordable new homes for deserving low-income families in South Florida that might otherwise not be able to purchase homes of their own. Habitat for Humanity homes are sold at cost to deserving families without regard to their race or religion.
BankAtlantic volunteers will accept donations for Habitat for Humanity of Broward at the following intersections from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21:
