BANK OF AMERICA PILOTS ELECTRONIC ACCOUNT ANALYSIS SERVICE

SAN FRANCISCO, May 3, /PRNewswire/ -- Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), expecting to introduce its Electronic Account Analysis Service (EAAS) later in the second quarter, has begun a pilot program to test the product with a small group of corporate clients. The product is featured at the LA EXPO trade show, today through Wednesday, at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Beverly Hills. Bank of America is among the leading providers of treasury management products and services to multinational corporations and middle-market companies in the United States and globally.
Operating through the bank's BAMTRAC(R) family of electronic banking services, the Electronic Account Analysis Service provides client users with on-line access, via their terminal or personal computer, to 10 kinds of account analysis reports. Formats of these reports conform with Treasury Management Association (TMA) standards. EAAS gives clients access to any of their Bank of America corporate accounts domiciled in California, as well as to statements for accounts at select BankAmerica affiliate banks.
Senior Vice President Marshall Soura, manager of the bank's Global Payment Services Sales and Product Management, said, "Bank of America is among the leading cash management banks that provide on-line account analysis. Piloting EAAS is part of our ongoing process of providing new and enhanced cash management tools to the market. This process now reflects the merged strengths of both Security Pacific and Bank of America in the cash management business."
Client users of EAAS can also download their statement information using American National Standards Institute X12/822, a standard, machine-readable format that is easily converted, through third-party software, into spreadsheet or accounting applications. This conversion option enables clients to re-use the information internally without re-keying data from their account analysis statements.
On-line account analysis services are of particular interest to companies seeking to automate complex treasury management functions. EAAS statements are available to clients faster than paper statements; EAAS data can be manipulated as needed by clients and, with TMA-standard formats, can easily be compared to statements from other financial institutions.
For information about the Electronic Account Analysis Service, customers should contact their Bank of America account representatives. Others should contact Global Payment Services Vice Presidents John Bubrik at 213-345-5221 or Maureen Keane at 213-345-4440.
