Witnesses told investigators four to six men, ages 18 to 22, robbed the store, employees and patrons, deputies said.

The incident occurred at a Wendy's on 10th Street West and Avenue I. No injuries were reported, deputies said.

Manager Art Jimenez said employees seemed to have settled down by the time he arrived at the store about an hour after what he said was a harrowing experience.

"They were relaxed, some of them were even joking ...," Jiminez said.

Jiminez said there were five employees and two patrons at the store, which was preparing to close in less than a half-hour.
