BAND-ORE RESOURCES LTD. - NEW GOLD ZONES ON THORNE PROPERTY.TORONTO, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 1995-- BAND-ORE(CANADIAN DEALING NETWORK Canadian Dealing Network (CDN) The organized OTC market of Canada. Formerly known as the Canadian Over-the-Counter Automated Trading System (COATS), the CDN became a subsidiary of the Toronto Stock Exchange in 1991. : BNDR ) Band-Ore Resources Ltd. ("The Company") is pleased to announce that recent drilling has located 2 new zones of gold mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. on its 100 percent owned "Thorne Property" located in Bristol and Thorneloe Townships approximately 10 km west of the famous Timmins, Ontario gold mining camp. Drill hole T-01-95 collared into a wide mineralized min·er·al·ize v. min·er·al·ized, min·er·al·iz·ing, min·er·al·iz·es v.tr. 1. To convert to a mineral substance; petrify. 2. To transform a metal into a mineral by oxidation. 3. alteration zone consisting of quartz ankerite an·ker·ite n. A white, gray, or red iron-rich dolomitic or carbonate mineral, Ca(Fe,Mg,Mn)(CO3)2. [After M.J. Anker (1771-1843), Austrian mineralogist.] sericite schist schist (shĭst), metamorphic rock having a foliated, or plated, structure called schistosity in which the component flaky minerals are visible to the naked eye. containing disseminated pyrite and arsenopyrite arsenopyrite (är'sĭnōpī`rīt, ärsĕn`ō–) or mispickel (mĭs`pĭkəl), silver-white to steel-gray mineral with the metallic luster characteristic of a pyrite. . From bedrock surface the first 102 feet of drill core assayed 0.015 ounces gold per ton including 0.05 ounces per ton gold over 18 feet and with individual assays as high 0.17 ounces gold per ton. Other anomalous gold results were encountered throughout the zone. The Company has commenced drilling to undercut this new gold zone to determine its dip and width. Drill hole T-02-95 was drilled to intersect a second I.P. anomaly approximately 500 feet south of drill hole T-01-95. This drill hole intersected a zone of intense mineralization and alteration over 500 feet in width. Anomalous gold results were encountered in four zones of 98 feet, 60 feet, 44 feet and 34.5 feet in width. The Company is very encouraged that these two new zones have been discovered in an area on the property that has never been drilled before. Both of these zones are located on the west side of the Tachakapika river and are to the west of the Kapika zone that has gold mineralization consisting of approximately 300,000 tons of 0.074 ounces gold per ton. BRISTOL LAKE PROPERTY The Company has learned that Teck Corporation has recently optioned the neighbouring Placer Dome property located in Bristol township. The property is contiguous to the Company's Bristol Lake property which is also under option to Teck Corporation. The Teck/Placer Dome property covers a portion of the Bristol porphyry complex that extends onto Band-Ore's property. In 1991 a report on Placer Dome's property suggested there are many similarities between the Bristol porphyry, the Pearl Lake porphyry that hosts the McIntyre Gold Mine and the Hemlo porphyry that hosts the Golden Giant Mine The Golden Giant Mine was an underground gold mine in the Hemlo mining camp in Canada, located north of Lake Superior, midway between Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay, Ontario near the town of Marathon. . Teck will begin a drilling program to test the known targets early next week. THUNDER CREEK PROPERTY Hemlo Gold Mines has advised the Company that a drilling program will commence during late April to test several coincidental mag and I.P. anomalies. Hemlo will be following up on targets that extend in a northeasterly north·east·er·ly adj. 1. Situated toward the northeast. 2. Coming or being from the northeast. north·east direction across the property. CONTACT: Band-Ore Resources Wayne J. O'Connor, 416/365-0811 |
