 BANC ONE TO PURCHASE FOUR SAVINGS OF AMERICA OFFICES
 COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Donald L. McWhorter,


chairman and chief executive officer of Banc One Ohio Corporation, announced that Banc One Corporation (NYSE: ONE) on behalf of its affiliate, Bank One, Cincinnati, NA, has signed a definitive agreement to purchase certain assets and assume the deposits of four Savings of America offices in the greater-Cincinnati area. The offices are located in Fairfield, Hamilton, Ross and Franklin, Ohio.
 This transaction, in conjunction with the previously announced plans for consolidation of Bank One, Cincinnati, NA and Bank One, Middletown, will give Bank One, Cincinnati 41 banking offices and assets in excess of $1 billion. Thomas R. Weatherwax, president and chief operating officer of Bank One, Cincinnati, said, "We are delighted that these four offices, which have approximately $88 million in deposits, will become branches of Bank One, Cincinnati. They will help us continue to expand our presence and service in southern Butler County and the Towne Mall area."
 The transaction is subject to regulatory approval, and is expected to be completed during the second half of 1992. Savings of America is a division of Home Savings of America, the nation's largest savings institution. Home Savings, with assets of more than $47 billion and deposits of more than $39 billion, serves more than 2.5 million customers from 39 savings branches in nine states and 90 mortgage lending offices in 13 states.
 Banc One Corporation had assets of $46.3 billion including Bank One, Texas, and total common equity of $3.5 billion as of Dec. 31, 1991. Banc One operates 53 banks with 864 offices in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin. Banc One Corporation also operates several additional corporations that engage in data processing, venture capital, investment and merchant banking, trust, brokerage, equipment leasing, mortgage banking, consumer finance and insurance.
