BANC ONE ANNOUNCES THREE SENIOR MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENTS

 COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- John B. McCoy, chairman and chief executive officer of Banc One Corporation (NYSE: ONE), Columbus, Ohio, announced today that Richard D. Headley has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer of Banc One Services Corporation. Headley had formerly been president and chief executive officer of Banc One Credit Card Services Company. Donald L. McWhorter, president of Banc One Corporation, had previously held the title of chairman and chief executive officer of Banc One Services Corporation. Robert L. Barrett will continue as president and chief operating officer. Headley will report to Donald L. McWhorter.
 McCoy also announced that Jeffrey P. Neubert will become chairman and chief executive officer of Banc One Diversified Credit Corporation which includes the management of Banc One Leasing Corporation, Banc One Credit Card Services Company, and Finance One Corporation. Finance One is a holding company for Banc One Financial Services, Inc., a finance company. Banc One Credit Card Services has responsibility for all credit cards issued by Banc One affiliates and merchant activity throughout the country. Neubert had previously been executive vice president in charge of corporate development for Banc One. McCoy indicated that Nancy C. Bonner, vice president of Banc One, will assume responsibility for corporate development which includes human capital planning and development and service quality activities. Both Neubert and Bonner will report to McCoy.
 Headley had been chairman and chief executive officer of Bank One, Akron from January, 1990 until early this year. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of Banc One Wisconsin Corporation. He joined Bank One, Columbus in January 1975, after being honorably discharged as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He had served in a number of capacities in Bank One, Columbus.
 Prior to joining Banc One Corporation in 1991, Neubert was general manager of Citibank's National Marketing Division. His 17-year Citicorp career also included managing student loans, travelers checks, and the bank's New York, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Maine retail branches. Before joining Citicorp, he was with General Foods Corporation where he spent almost 10 years in various marketing positions.
 Bonner joined Banc One in October 1991 as vice president for financial manpower development. Prior to joining Banc One, she had spent 17 years with General Electric in various comptroller and financial officer positions both in the United States and abroad. In 1988, she was appointed chief financial officer - sales, distribution and marketing for GE appliances, a position she held before joining Banc One.
 Banc One Corporation had assets of $75.5 billion and common equity of $6.3 billion as of June 30, 1993. Banc One now operates 78 banks with 1,320 offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Banc One Corporation also operates several additional corporations that engage in data processing, venture capital, investment and merchant banking, trust, brokerage, investment management, equipment leasing, mortgage banking, consumer finance and insurance.
