BALLY MANUFACTURING CORPORATION'S BILOXI, MISS., DOCKSIDE CASINO SITE GETS STATE GAMING COMMISSION OK

CHICAGO, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Mississippi Gaming Commission today approved Bally Manufacturing Corporation's (NYSE: BLY) latest dockside casino site on the Gulf Coast in Biloxi, Miss., according to Arthur M. Goldberg, chairman, chief executive officer and president of the company.
This action follows similar approval by the Gaming Commission for Bally's dockside casino site in Tunica, Miss. The Biloxi casino is scheduled for a spring 1994 opening while Tunica is moving forward toward a scheduled year-end 1993 operating date.
Said Mr. Goldberg, "These casinos will give Bally a major presence in new gaming markets in the Southern United States, offering the company opportunity to increase shareholder value."
The planned new 51,000-square-foot Biloxi casino complex will be situated on five two-story barges on which the first floor will contain a 45,000-square-foot casino including approximately 1,500 slot machines and 80 table games. In addition, designs call for the upper floor to be served by escalators and elevators, and to contain a poker and keno facility, a food court, entertainment lounge and youth arcade.
"The Bally site is centrally located on the Biloxi Gulf Coast strip between two major casinos currently under construction, The Grand Casino and Casino Magic, in the heart of the area that will eventually have an Atlantic City type boardwalk," continued Mr. Goldberg.
Both the Biloxi and Tunica projects are subject to licensing approvals by the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
Bally Manufacturing Corporation is one of the world's foremost operators of casino hotel resorts and fitness centers.
