BALLOT FILING PERIOD OPENS LOCAL BOARDS TO FILL SEATS.

LANCASTER - The filing period will begin today and continue through Aug. 9 to run for seats on the boards of the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The Antelope Valley
 Hospital, three local school districts and a water agency in Nov. 5 elections.

In the Antelope Valley Health Care District, the hospital board seats of Gary Hill, now the chairman, and Don Bean are up for election.

Seats of Frank Donato, Carl Hunter Jr. and Andy Rutledge are up for grabs in the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency.

The Palmdale School District The Palmdale School District is a school district that serves a major part of the city of Palmdale, California (USA).

The Palmdale School District was first formed in 1888. Approximately 28,000 students are enrolled in the Palmdale School District.
 is holding a special election to fill the seat left vacant by the resignation of former trustee Larry Logsdon, who moved out of the district. Logsdon's term will expire in December 2003.

In the Muroc Joint Union School District, terms of trustees Danna Plewe, Stanley Evans and Janet Muckerheide are expiring.

Plewe's seat, which is for the Edwards Air Force Base Edwards Air Force Base, U.S. military installation, 301,000 acres (121,805 hectares), S Calif., NE of Lancaster; est. 1933. The term of Muckerheide, who was appointed to an Edwards Air Force Base seat last October, will run for two years.

In the Mojave Unified School District A unified school district is a school district which includes both primary school (kindergarten through middle school or junior high) and high school (grades 9-12). In Illinois, these districts are called unit school districts. , the seats of trustees Annette Edblad, George Lewis and Shawn Sprague will be up for election.

The Southern Kern Unified School District has no board seats up for election, but trustees are considering whether to place a bond measure on the November ballot.

The bonds would help pay off the district's long-term debt Long-Term Debt
