BALLISTIVET NAMES METZGER TERRITORY MANAGER

MINNEAPOLIS, May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- BallistiVet, Inc. (NASDAQ: BVET) today announced it has named Gary G. Metzger to the position of territory manager, with responsibility for Nebraska and parts of Colorado, Iowa and Wyoming. He has more than 25 years experience in agribusiness and the animal health industry.
Metzger was previously national accounts manager and manager, distributor operations for Oxford Veterinary Laboratories, a subsidiary of The Upjohn Company. He joined Oxford in 1987 as a territory manager, and was credited with opening new markets for the company in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Prior to joining Oxford, he had statewide responsibility as general manager for seven A.O. Smith Harvestore dealerships in Iowa. In the 1970's, Metzger was national sales manager for Snyder Industries, a manufacturer of farm equipment; and prior to that was a division manager and field representative for the Jen-Sal division of Richardson-Merrell, now Coopers Animal Health, which manufactures animal health products sold to veterinarians.
David Watrud, president and CEO of BallistiVet, said, "Gary Metzger has been very successful at developing new territories in the animal health industry. We brought him to Oxford when I was president there, and his pioneering work in the Eastern hog belt exceeded our most optimistic projections for that market. His industry knowledge and field experience will be terrific assets for BallistiVet as we increase our efforts to pioneer sales in the High Plains -- the focus of our current marketing efforts."
The company also has a territory manager in the southern High Plains region, comprising Kansas and parts of Oklahoma and Colorado.
BallistiVet is a Minnesota-based company that manufactures and markets products for the cattle health market, which approximates $1 billion in the United States. The company's patented ballistic vaccine delivery system, which replaces traditional needle and syringe methods, allows inoculation of animals, without restraint, from ranges up to 20 feet using an air-powered rifle.
