BALL FANS CAN FILE TAXES AT STADIUM.

Byline: Charles F. Bostwick Daily News Staff Writer

Income tax procrastinators in the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The Antelope Valley
can file last-minute returns at an unusual place: Lancaster Municipal Stadium.

U.S. Postal Service The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) processes and delivers mail to individuals and businesses within the United States. The service seeks to improve its performance through the development of efficient mail-handling systems and operates its own planning and engineering programs.  clerks will set up a mobile post office inside the stadium gates from 5 until about 9:30 p.m. during the JetHawks' game against San Jose San Jose, city, United States

``We do all sorts of crazy things on tax day,'' explained Postal Service postal service, arrangements made by a government for the transmission of letters, packages, and periodicals, and for related services. Early courier systems for government use were organized in the Persian Empire under Cyrus, in the Roman Empire, and in medieval  spokeswoman Terri Bouffiou. ``We don't really encourage people to wait to the last minute, but we know it's going to happen. If we can accommodate these events . . . and make it a little more fun, why not?''

There will be similar goings-on nationwide tonight. In Boise, Idaho, the local orchestra will serenade serenade [Ital. sera=evening], term used to designate several types of musical composition. Opera and song literature yield numerous examples of the serenade sung or played by a lover at night beneath his beloved's window; outstanding is  late tax filers. In Fort Myers, Fla., a radio station will give away free postage to the first 600 customers. In Baltimore, tax returns will be accepted at the Orioles' game.

``The JetHawks asked us to be at the stadium for tax night, and we thought it would be fun and a great chance to make it just a little easier to get to the post office on this busiest night of the year,'' said Mickie Merrick, one of the clerks who will be working at the game.

For those who aren't baseball fans, the main Lancaster post office at 1008 W. Ave. J-2 will be open until midnight. During most of the evening, postal employees will be stationed at the curb to take tax returns from motorists.
