BAKERY-CAFE PLANNED PANERA TO OPEN PALMDALE SHOP.Byline: Peggy Hager Staff Writer PALMDALE - Panera Bread Panera Bread (NASDAQ: PNRA), is a chain of bakery café restaurants in the United States, specializing in serving specialty breads, sandwiches, soups, bakery items, and in select cafés, pizzas and organic potato chips. Corporate history In 1993, Au Bon Pain Co. , one of the nation's must successful bakery-cafe concepts, began its quest to build a quality neighborhood bakery-cafe today in the Amargosa Commons shopping area with an official groundbreaking ceremony. Once completed, Panera will have built a 4,500-square-foot bakery-cafe that will employ at least 50 local residents. In keeping with the times, Panera Bread will have wireless Internet available for patrons at no cost. ``We found that a lot of people that have offices at home love to come to Panera and meet people and conduct business. We expect that during the day, we will have a lot of people come in,'' explained Glazer. At Panera's, all the bread, soups and salads will be made fresh each day. Bakers will arrive at 10 p.m. and bake until 9 a.m. Any leftover food will be distributed to local charities. ``We bake everything fresh every day, so what isn't used at the end of the day, we give away to food banks,'' said Adler. Giving away the leftovers is a tradition for the Panera locations. Among the types of bread available are sourdough, country french, stone- milled rye, pumpernickel, tomato basil and cinnamon raisin raisin, in botany and cooking raisin, dried fruit of certain varieties of grapevines bearing grapes with a high content of sugar and solid flesh. Although the fruit is sometimes artificially dehydrated, it is usually sun-dried. . Soups will include French onion, broccoli cheddar, lowfat chicken noodle, cream of chicken and wild rice, lowfat vegetarian black bean black bean see castanospermum australe, erythrophleumchlorostachys. and baked potato soup.
