Who: Colin Piper, president of Econiq, is a 25-year banking
industry veteran responsible for all U.S. and North
American sales and operations for the Boston-based company
that provides an enterprise suite of software solutions
that enhance frontline sales effectiveness to maximize
competitiveness and productivity for financial
institutions. Piper was one of the original founders of
Eontec, Inc., which was acquired in 2004 by Siebel
Systems, Inc. He served as the COO for Eontec Ltd,
(Ireland) and president of Eontec Inc. (North America),
where he was responsible for Eontec's largest sale to CIBC
and the rollout of the Eontec product to their 1,200
branches across Canada.
What: In today's financial institution it is more crucial than
ever to have a frontline staff that is able to capitalize
on cross-selling opportunities to existing clients.
However, a 2005 study found more than 74 percent of these
opportunities are being missed, resulting in a negative
frontline employee retention cycle and decreased profits
for the financial institution. While several factors may
play a part in this phenomenon, lack of training and/or
motivation for the frontline staff is at the top of the
list.
In the session at the BAI Retail Delivery Conference &
Expo, Piper will be addressing how financial institutions
can help solve this issue by utilizing technology
solutions that effectively combine components of CRM
functionality with components of sales effectiveness
consulting. By monitoring frontline behavior, making small
but smart suggestions in the behavior of frontline staff
and giving the frontline staff the tools that enable them
to be successful in achieving sales goals, financial
institutions ultimately improve customer retention, deepen
account relationships and drive top line growth. Enhancing
productivity enables financial institutions employees to
work in ways that are the most meaningful to the customer
and the business, further maximizing competitiveness and
productivity for the institution.
