BAE stands ground in battle with SFO; NEWS IN BRIEF.


BAE SYSTEMS BAE Systems

British manufacturer of aircraft, missiles, avionics, naval vessels, and other aerospace and defense products. BAE Systems was formed (1999) from the merger of British Aerospace (BAe) with Marconi Electronic Systems.
 has still not come to an agreement with the Serious Fraud Office over its claims that it secured business abroad through bribes. two weeks ago, the SFO SFO (in Britain) Serious Fraud Office  said it would ask the Attorney General's permission to prosecute BAE if it did not pay fines of hundreds of millions of pounds. In a trading statement today, BAE said that it "continues to expend considerable effort to resolve [the case]", but it will see the SFO in court if necessary.
