BAE Systems Names Wally Massenburg to Lead Readiness and Sustainment Effort.


NASHUA, N.H. -- BAE Systems has named Wally Massenburg vice president of readiness and sustainment for Electronics & Integrated Solutions (E&IS). Massenburg is responsible for developing the model and functionality to sustain systems used by U.S. and allied military forces through their total life cycle.

Massenburg previously served 38 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a vice admiral in 2007. He was most recently commander of the Naval Air Systems Command The Naval Air Systems Command, or NAVAIR, is the part of the United States Navy which provides materiel support for naval aircraft and airborne weapon systems, such as guided missiles. NAVAIR was established in 1966 as the successor to the Navy's Bureau of Naval Weapons (BuWeps).  at Patuxent River, Maryland, where he led a 27,000-person team providing combat power for Navy and Marine Corps aviation teams. In addition, he was the chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Massenburg holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Washington and Jefferson College, a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and a master's degree in systems management from the University of Southern California The U.S. News & World Report ranked USC 27th among all universities in the United States in its 2008 ranking of "America's Best Colleges", also designating it as one of the "most selective universities" for admitting 8,634 of the almost 34,000 who applied for freshman admission . He resides in Needham, Massachusetts.
