BAE Systems Awarded $28 Million U.S. Air Force Contract to Provide Radar Warning Receivers For C-130J Transports.

Typically fitted to military aircraft, radar warning receivers (RWR) detect the radio emissions of radar systems, whether ground-based or on-board other aircraft.

BAE Systems has produced more than 1,250 ALR-56M radar warning receivers for U.S. and international customers since the original production award in 1988. The ALR-56M is used on multiple aircraft, including the F-16 and several models of the C-130 used by Italy, Canada, Norway, and the United Kingdom, as well as the U.K.'s Replacement Maritime Patrol Maritime patrol is the task of monitoring areas of water.
