 Applied Technologies, Inc., Rockville, Md., is being awarded a $7,719,128 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for technical and engineering services in support of the Naval Air Systems Command The Naval Air Systems Command, or NAVAIR, is the part of the United States Navy which provides materiel support for naval aircraft and airborne weapon systems, such as guided missiles. NAVAIR was established in 1966 as the successor to the Navy's Bureau of Naval Weapons (BuWeps). , Naval Air Warfare Center The Naval Air Warfare Center was a former U.S. Navy military installation located in Warminster, Pennsylvania and Ivyland, Pennsylvania.

The U.S. Navy purchased the grounds to establish this facility from the Brewster Aeronautical Corporation following its bankruptcy in the
 Aircraft Division's Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems Department of Defense facilities, personnel, and equipment (fixed, mobile, and seaborne) with associated avionics to provide safe, orderly, and expeditious aerospace vehicle movements worldwide. Also called ATCALS.  Branch. The estimated level of effort for this contract is 128,640 man-hours. Work will be performed in Great Mills, Md. (72 percent) and St. Inigoes, Md. (28 percent), and is to be completed by October 2003. Contract funds in the amount of $15,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured through an electronic request for proposals, with eight proposals solicited and one offer received. The Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, St. Inigoes is the contracting activity (N00421-03-C-0016).
