BAE SYSTEMS To Provide Mission Computer and Autopilot System for Hawk Trainers.


JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. -- BAE Systems Platform Solutions BAE Systems Platform Solutions is part of BAE Systems Electronics and Integrated Solutions, a subsidiary of BAE Systems Inc. The division was formerly known as Lockheed Martin Control Systems (LMCS).  will provide the mission computer and autopilot system for 20 Hawk 128 Advanced Jet Trainer aircraft recently ordered by the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence.

The mission computer is an open-architecture system in development at Platform Solutions' facility in Edinburgh, U.K. This computer provides the graphics for all six cockpit display panels and a head-up display.

The new autopilot system will enable the MoD to fly the Hawk in controlled civil airspace and will also reduce pilot workload. The system consists of a computer, rate gyro unit, tailplane tailplane

Gyros or gyro (Greek: γύρος, "turning") (IPA: [ˈjɪːɹəʊ] 
 will be provided by BEI Bei (pā, bā), river, c.200 mi (320 km) long, formed by the union of two headstreams in the Nanling Mts., N Guangdong prov., S China. It flows S into the Xi River, E of Guangzhou, to form the Pearl River delta.  Systron Donner, and the actuators by Smiths Aerospace.

 (IN-GPS) system. IN-GPS forms the core of the aircraft's positioning and navigation system by correlating both inertial and global positioning satellite data to provide an accurate positional fix.
