BAE SYSTEMS & CSC TO EXPAND STRATEGIC IT PARTNERSHIP.
Upon signing of a final agreement, CSC will manage IT operations on a transatlantic basis, including mainframe and midrange computers, servers and desktops as well as help-desk, applications and Internet services. These operations currently employ about 1,000 IT professionals in the UK and across North America.
The expansion builds upon an established and highly successful 10-year outsourcing agreement signed in 1994 between CSC and British Aerospace.
Stephen Henwood, director responsible for IT at BAE Systems, said, "BAE Systems is the global systems, defense and aerospace company. IT is a critical enabling tool for the integration of BAE Systems, and extending our partnership with CSC offers improved access to the resources of a global IT company and means that a larger part of our business will now benefit from the partnership."
