BAE SYSTEMS' Mojave Facility Receives Level 3 Capability Maturity Model Integration Rating.


MOJAVE, Calif. -- BAE Systems' Mojave facility has been rated as achieving Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI See CMM. (R)) Level 3 in several key business processes. CMMI is a process improvement approach developed collaboratively by industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI).

 employees at Mojave implemented CMMI Level 3 practices within three process areas: project planning project planning - project management , process and product quality assurance, and configuration management.

), an SEI-authorized appraisal organization. SSCI appraisers spent a week reviewing Mojave processes and also interviewed software practitioners and company management.

The Mojave site joins other BAE Systems' facilities, which have achieved CMMI Level 3 certification: Nashua, N.H.; Yonkers, N.Y.; Manassas and McLean, Va.; Pomona, Calif.; and Lansdale, Pa. Additionally, the following BAE Systems' facilities have achieved CMMI Level 5 certification: San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  and Santa Clara Santa Clara, city, Cuba

BAE Systems' Mojave facility provides a diverse range of products and services to the military and commercial aviation communities. The site's 250 employees perform design engineering and product development, aircraft modification and maintenance, and FAA avionics flight test and certification.
