The newly established facility will be the site for the overhaul, remanufacturing and upgrade of the 25mm enhanced gun system, turret drives and transmissions for Bradley Combat Systems. This work is being performed as part of the Public Private Partnership established last year between BAE Systems and RRAD.

 as possible."

In August 2004, BAE Systems and Red River Army Depot signed a Public Private Partnership agreement to team with the Army's PM Combat Systems for the management, overhaul and upgrade of the Bradley fleet. Under the agreement, the company and the depot are focusing on the execution of Bradley requirements, drawing on the combined strengths of both organizations, to provide the highest quality Bradley vehicles for American troops.

Hove noted that the partnership had made tremendous progress since it was established a little more than one year ago between BAE Systems and RRAD. "The Red River Army Depot is an integral part of the reset and remanufacture process. The partnership is the best way to enhance the capability and effectiveness of our soldiers by continuously improving the Bradley fleet," said Hove.

The Bradley Combat System has played a centerpiece role in Operation Iraqi Freedom and continues to provide outstanding survivability, mobility and lethality to U.S. soldiers in all types of conditions ranging from close-combat urban scenarios to combat on open terrain. The Bradley Combat Systems fulfill critical infantry, cavalry, fire support, battle command and engineer roles for the Army's heavy brigade A heavy brigade is a formation made up from 'Heavy' Cavalry ie Dragoon Guards and Dragoons.
