Part of the company's BACKTRACK(R) Applications Library of targeted, pre-formatted template modules, BACKTRACK Tool & Die Tracking helps manufacturers move, store and maintain tool and die equipment throughout its life cycle.

The sample template, available for corrugated box cutting and printing, can be found in the BACKTRACK Applications Library at www.backtrackgroup.com. It was developed to manage hundreds of printing plates and dies in three locations in a networked environment. Handheld personal data terminals (PDTs) are used to check the dies in and out of storage, and control their movement.

The BACKTRACK Tool & Die Tracking module provides a central place to record all of the information related to each die, including location, when it is mounted into a machine, production statistics, repair and rework information, and when it is returned to the customer. The BACKTRACK software-generated bar code makes it easy for production personnel to keep records up to date, and reduces setup and storage errors. The BACKTRACK Tool & Die Tracking module produces two labels so that dies can be easily found in horizontal or vertical storage facilities.
