Junction City High girl collects arts award

Allison Fix, a student at Junction City High School, has been selected as January's Performing Arts Student of the Month by the Support Hultcenter Operations arts organization.

As a pianist, Fix has performed both solo and ensemble works in more than 40 recitals and music festivals.

A three-time winner in the Oregon Composition Celebration, she is also a published composer, with her pieces appearing in collections of works by Oregon composers and in Clavier magazine's Piano Explorer.

She is the daughter of Michael and Merry Fix.
