BACKPACK.Byline: 20Below/The Register-Guard CONTEST UO law schools sponsors essay and art contests In observance of Constitution Day, the University of Oregon School of Law The University of Oregon School of Law, housed in the Knight Law Center, is Oregon's state funded law school. The school was founded in 1884.[1] The school is located on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Oregon, on the corner of 15th and Agate streets, is sponsoring a high school essay contest as well as an art contest for elementary and middle school students. "How the Constitution affects my daily life" is the topic for the essay contest, which is open to students who will be freshmen through seniors during the 2006-07 school year. The essay should be between 400 and 500 words. Prizes will be given to the top three entries. The art contest will have divisions for kindergarten to second grade; third to fifth grades; and sixth to eighth grades. The topic of the artwork should be "What the Constitution means to me." Prizes will be given to the top entry in each division. All entries must be submitted to the law school by Aug. 25. Winners will be announced at a Constitution Day event on Sept. 15.
