BACK IN SADDLE AGAIN; HART GRAD HULL WAGES COMEBACK.Byline: SCOTT WOLF Scott Richard Wolf (born June 4, 1968) is an American actor. Born in Boston, Massachusetts to Steven Wolf and Susan Enowitch, Wolf was raised in West Orange, New Jersey. He graduated in 1986 from West Orange High School. They say if you fall off a horse, the first thing to do is get right back on. Nobody says that around Erin Hull anymore. One year later, after being forced to spend her senior season at Arizona State doing little more than taking stats, warming up pitchers and being the team's cheerleader, Hull still hasn't ridden a horse. It's perfectly understandable, considering Hull expected that this would be her biggest season ever at Arizona State. She already ranked No. 2 in career stolen bases and her 72 hits in 1996 were the second-best mark in Sun Devils
Instead of improving on those marks, though, the Hart High School Hart High School may refer to:
All because of a wild horse. Hull grew up riding in equestrian events and thought she was lucky landing a summer job exercising horses at Los Alamitos Los Alamitos (lôs ăləmē`təs, lŏs), city (1990 pop. 11,676), Orange co., NE of Long Beach, S Calif., in a suburban area; inc. 1960. It decided to take a right turn when Hull wanted to go left, and in an instant, Hull was flung from the horse and straight toward a wooden wall. ``They crashed and burned,'' her father, Terry, joked. Hull broke the fall by placing her arms in front of her. Then she lost consciousness. By the time she woke up, she was told she severely broke her left arm. Six days later, Hull's right arm hurt so much that she went back to the doctor. ``I just figured it was sprained. It got to the point where it wasn't any better,'' Hull said. A second set of X-rays revealed that it too was badly fractured. Hull had six pins placed in her left arm and seven in her right. She also had four-inch metal plates placed in each arm. If that wasn't bad enough, she wore full-arm casts for 10 days. ``I needed help with everything,'' Hull said. ``My nose never itched so much in my life.'' When Hull went to restaurants with her parents, they had to cut her food and place the fork in her mouth. She was virtually helpless. ``I felt very vulnerable,'' Hull said. ``I couldn't be alone for two seconds. I could barely change the channels on the television.'' The metal plates caused discomfort, especially when it rained, but Hull was determined to play with Arizona State this season, especially since the Sun Devils had seven other seniors that were her closest friends on the team. The comeback seemed plausible, but while working out in January, Hull found out she tore her Achilles' tendon Achilles' tendon (tendo calcaneus) (tĕn`dō kălkā`nēəs), sinew prominent at the back of the ankle, connecting the tendons of the calf muscles to the heelbone. . That pretty much ended her year. And deprived the Sun Devils of their leadoff hitter In baseball, a leadoff hitter is a batter who bats first in the lineup. Strategy Leadoff hitters must possess certain traits to be successful: they must reach base at a proficient rate and be able to steal bases. and center fielder. ``It's been one thing after another,'' Hull said. ``You almost get to the point where you go numb,'' Hull said. ``It's a hard decision deciding to redshirt your senior year. ``It's been the most challenging and most frustrating year. Especially for someone who doesn't get injured.'' Hull's Achilles is sound, but she is still overcoming some physical and psychological problems with her arms. ``I get real nervous when I have to dive into the base and dive for a ball,'' Hull said. ``It's kind of scary because you don't know Don't know (DK, DKed) "Don't know the trade." A Street expression used whenever one party lacks knowledge of a trade or receives conflicting instructions from the other party. if you're going to be able to come back and be as good as you were.'' She's also getting the plate removed from her right arm to reduce the pain. Her left arm also hurts from time to time but not enough to remove that plate. Hull knows she has to be patient, and intends to play on a travel team this summer to regain her sharpness. ``I need to just take my time. It'll all come back,'' Hull said. Arizona State hopes so. Hull hit .343, scored a team-high 47 runs and was named honorable mention All-Pacific-10 Conference last year. There's no reason to think she won't be in her usual form by the start of next season. But the real question is, has Hull gotten back on a horse yet? ``No, I haven't,'' she said. ``I would probably be real nervous.''
