BACH COMPETITION DEADLINE COMING UP.

LANCASTER - The deadline for young musicians to enter the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The Antelope Valley
 Symphony Orchestra and Master Chorale's Bach competition in drawing near.

All musicians who have not reached the age of 26 by Feb. 10 and who have not won a previous Bach competition in their current age category are eligible to enter.

Contestants will perform a musical selection of no more than eight minutes, by Johann Sebastian Bach for piano or solo instrument.

Contestants must submit a completed application, a copy of their birth certificate or passport passport

Document issued by a national government identifying a traveler as a citizen with a right to protection while abroad and a right to return to the country of citizenship. It is normally a small booklet containing a description and photograph of the bearer.

Not permitted, under the terms of an indenture, to be refundable.
 $20 application fee no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 5.

The competition will be held Jan. 20 in the Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  Music Building, 3041 W. Ave. K.

First prize is $200 and second prize is $100 in three different categories: 12 years and older, ages 13 through 18 and ages 19 through 25.

First prize winners will also receive two complimentary vouchers to the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra and Master Chorale chorale (kōrăl`, –räl`), any of the traditional hymns of the German Protestant Church. The form was developed after the Reformation to replace the plainsong of the earlier service and as a means of congregational participation in  performance on Feb. 10.
