County Sheriff Lee Baca Leroy David Baca (b. May 27 1942, East Los Angeles, California) is the Sheriff of Los Angeles County, California. After graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School (Los Angeles) in 1960, Baca worked his way through East Los Angeles College before starting with the L.A. on Tuesday unveiled the first comprehensive Web site in the nation that records the nature and frequency of homicides in Los Angeles County. The site's purpose is twofold, Baca said: To generate more tips to help solve homicide cases and to give a broader base of information about all of the county's homicides to the public. Baca and his staff unveiled the site Tuesday during a news conference at the sheriff's headquarters. The site - www.lacountymurders.com - includes details on the 205 homicides the sheriff's department has handled this year.
