BIRTHDAY boy Charlie Senior turns two today.

But, unlike most children, Charlie's eyes will not light up at the sight of gifts waiting to be unwrapped.

The toddler has been blind since the age of 15 weeks when he was violently shaken by his father Paul Sykes
"Paul Sykes" is also the name of a player in the Harlequins Rugby League.


Paul Sykes (born 1943) is a British businessman, political donor, and friend and associate of the eurosceptic populist politician Robert Kilroy-Silk.

Charlie's mum Joanne is planning a party for her beloved little boy this weekend.

But the celebrations will be tempered by the knowledge that her son is unlikely ever to see again.
