BAA January Traffic Figures Stansted Up Nearly 50%, Gatwick Up Over 10%.LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--February 10, 1999--BAA plc, the UK-based airport company, today announced that its seven UK airports handled a total of 7.6 million passengers in January, an increase of 7.3% on the same month last year. All the key markets saw growth in January, the largest being a 13.9% increase on Irish routes. North Atlantic traffic grew 9.2% and there was a 9% gain in other long haul Long distance.
