B2B ad pages increased 6.9% in July compared to the year-ago period, according to the Business Information Report released by American Business Media (ABM; New York).

). ABM said the increase is the largest month-over-month increase in ad pages since 2000. Ad spending for July increased 6.8%. Six of 11 industry categories showed an improvement in ad pages in July led by Automotive (+48.7%), Telecom (+15.7%) and Home & Building (+11.5%). Software (-17.4%) suffered the biggest drop followed by Manufacturing/Electrical Equipment (-6%). Seven of the II categories posted an increase in July ad spending including Automotive (+47.3%), Home & Building (+15.1%) and Drugs/Toiletries (+11.9%). Software (-16.4%), Manufacturing (-5.8%), Travel (-5.7%) and Computers (-3.8%) all showed a decline in ad pages. For the first seven months of the year, ad spending for the 800 b2b magazines tracked increased 1.6% with ad pages going up 0.4%.
