WELLINGTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 26, 2002

B/E Aerospace, Inc. (Nasdaq:BEAV) will be displaying its latest product innovations for business jet cabin interiors at the National Business Aircraft Association trade show on September 10th-12th in Orlando, Florida.

B/E will showcase new technology in executive aircraft seats and lighting that significantly improves functionality and comfort.

Prototype Technology for Executive Aircraft Seating:

Seat Comfort System:

On display will be an advanced comfort system. This one-of-a-kind comfort system provides a "subtle walking-like motion" that stimulates circulation through the upper thighs, buttocks and spine. The comfort system reduces restlessness, fatigue, discomfort, lower-back pain and stiffness.

Climate Control:

B/E will also be displaying a prototype personal variable temperature climate-control system. The climate-control system uses a thermoelectric device that provides heating or cooling to the passenger based on electrical charges. The heated or cooled air is distributed to the passenger through ducts and pads in the seat that allows the surface to change temperature. Each passenger can control the temperature through a keypad.

Innovative Certified Products:

New 28VDC Business Jet Lighting Power Supply

B/E has developed a new 28VDC lighting power supply to comply with the new requirements for harmonics, electrical wiring, electromagnetic interference and radiated field interference issued by Boeing and RTCA DO-160D.

The new power supply provides additional benefits beyond the required compliance issues. It has the ability to convert power from 115VAC to 28VDC and is adaptable enough to power three of B/E's 5700 LED flexible-arm reading lights.

LED Reading Light Wins FAA Certification

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) for B/E's 5500 LED reading light. To date the reading light has been approved for installation on the Canadair CL-600 and CL-601 and is eligible to replace existing lights on Learjet 31, 35, 36 and 60 models, as well as Raytheon's series 1900, B100, B200, and B300 and the Beechjet 400 and 400A aircraft.

Using light-emitting diode (LED) technology, the reading light offers distinct advantages over traditional lighting technology:

-- Reduced power consumption, utilizing 50% less power and lasting 10 to 12 times longer than existing incandescent and halogen bulbs.

-- Lower maintenance costs and no electromagnetic interference with other systems in the cabin.

-- High dispatch reliability.

-- The same high quality, natural white light consistent with traditional B/E systems.

-- B/E's patented temperature compensation circuitry, designed to increase lamp longevity.

Light Weight Seat Designs:

B/E's latest generation Gulfstream G200 upholstered executive aircraft seats shave significant weight from current seat designs. B/E achieved dramatic weight reductions through the use of advanced processes such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), which simulates the dynamic performance of the seat making it easier to evaluate weight reduction areas. The weight reductions were achieved while maintaining the superior comfort our passengers have come to expect.

First Fully Electric GV Seat:

B/E Aerospace will be introducing the first-ever fully electric seat for the Gulfstream V executive aircraft. The new seat will feature electric headrests, legrests, track and swivel, lumbar support, and recline. Additionally the seat highlights our upholstery capabilities utilizing a design developed in partnership with Robinson Design Ltd.
