B&G Foods to Name Vanessa Maskal Executive Vice President of Sales.

Promoted upon Retirement of Industry Veteran David Burke 

PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- B&G Foods, Inc. (AMEX: BGF), a manufacturer and distributor of high quality, shelf-stable foods, today announced the promotion of Vanessa Maskal to Executive Vice President of Sales. Ms. Maskal succeeds David Burke, who is retiring after a long and distinguished career with the Company.

"David has played a very valuable role in building our business and his contributions will continue to be appreciated long after his retirement."

Mr. Burke's decision to retire follows an impressive 41-year career in the food and consumer products industries. Prior to joining B&G Foods in 1990, Mr. Burke held senior positions with Pet Inc., Hester Systems, Quaker Oats and Procter & Gamble. He has also served as a board member for the National Frozen Food Association and the American Frozen Food Institute.

Ms. Maskal first joined B&G Foods in 1999 as Senior Brand Manager and after a brief hiatus returned to the Company in 2003 as Director of Direct Store Delivery Sales. She brings to her new post a strong professional history in sales, marketing and finance as well as extensive experience in the consumer products and manufacturing industries. Prior to joining B&G Foods, she held senior positions at IBC Inc., Drake Bakeries and Whatman Inc.

In her new position as Executive Vice President of Sales, Ms. Maskal will report directly to Mr. Wenner. Mr. Burke, who will remain with B&G Foods through January 2007 to facilitate a smooth transition, will begin transferring responsibilities to Ms. Maskal effective immediately. It is expected that Ms. Maskal will be formally appointed to her new position at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Company's Board of Directors to be held in November 2006.
