Duane and Nancy Johnston and two of their children removed the canvas cover off the white SUV at an event in front of iMotors' Ontario Delivery Center.

who came closest to guessing the correct make, model, year, series, color and options. The wrapped car was suspended from a crane Feb. 16 to Feb. 22 near the intersection of I-10 and I-15 at the Ontario Mills Coordinates:

Mall. The car was also displayed at freeway locations in Van Nuys and Long Beach and at the Pomona Speedway. The wrapped car could also be viewed on the iMotors website at www.imotors.com.

Duane found it on the website. He was at home, surfing the Internet looking at car sales sites, when he came across iMotors.com. He read the contest announcement and studied the picture of the covered car that was posted on the site.

That's when his expertise kicked in. Duane works at Bob Remy Automotive and Towing in Covina, California Covina is a city in Los Angeles County, California about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The population was 46,837 at the 2000 census.

Covina is often mistaken for West Covina, which is actually larger in both area and population, located to its south and west.
. "I figured it was an Explorer from the boxiness of the silhouette silhouette (sĭl'ĕt`), outline image, especially a profile drawing solidly filled in or a cutout pasted against a lighter background.  -- it's a well-known vehicle. Then I picked options I would want," he said.

How did he guess the correct color -- white? "I'm a lazy guy and don't like to wash cars. White hides the dirt really well," Duane said.

iMotors' brand manager Ted Wentzel said the company was delighted that the winner came from the Inland Empire In·land Empire

A region of the northwest United States between the Cascade Range and the Rocky Mountains, comprising eastern Washington, eastern Oregon, northern Idaho, and western Montana. Farming, lumbering, and mining are important to the area.
. "The people in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  really know their cars," Wentzel said. "That's why it's a strong market for us."

Duane was considering buying a used car through iMotors. "If you are buying a used car, they have the best way to do it," he said. "If you've been car shopping, you know what I mean. You walk onto a lot and are forced to pick from what they have. iMotors gives you a way of ordering what you actually want."

The event is part of iMotors' considerable marketing efforts in Southern California and the entire West Coast. The contest was engineered to introduce consumers to iMotors' unique ordering process, allowing contestants to simulate that process with their contest entry.

iMotors.com is the Internet's first and only used car retailer. iMotors.com is not a referral service, broker or auction site. iMotors.com gives customers the freedom to custom order one to five-year-old used cars on the Internet. Customers can specify make, model, year, options and color and are guaranteed a price lower than the Kelley Blue Book retail price. Once ordered, iMotors finds, buys, tests, inspects and certifies each car. iMotors then delivers the car at a convenient iMotors Delivery Center and backs it with a 7-day/700 mile money-back guarantee and a 3-month/3,000 mile warranty.

"We're all delighted" Duane said. "But my oldest daughter's the happiest. She knows it's going to be hers some day. And it will."
