Azko Nobel to invest in melt blown laminates.


After extensive product development and marketing research, Akzo Nobel Akzo Nobel is a multinational company, active in the fields of healthcare products, coatings and chemicals. Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the company has activities in more than 80 countries, and employs approximately 62,000 people. , Arnhem, The Netherlands - parent company of roll goods producer Akzo Industrial Nonwovens - has decided to invest in melt blown production. The investment will include the addition of a melt blown line with ultrasonic ultrasonic /ul·tra·son·ic/ (-son´ik) beyond the upper limit of perception by the human ear; relating to sound waves having a frequency of more than 20,000 Hz.

It resists moisture, oils, and solvents.  spunbond based on Akzo's "Colback" technology; the initial target market will be filtration. The melt blown technology come from Japanese supplier Nippon Kodoshi; the line is expected to be delivered in December with production set to begin in 1995.
