Aziridine expansion technology passes appraisal.

The expansion technology for the first aziridine production line in China passed technical appraisal in Wuhan of Hubei province on June 4th, 2006. The capacity of the existing 10 t/a aziridine production line can now be expanded to 100 t/a.

Aziridine is inflammable with acute toxicity. Its derivatives are extensively used in sewage treatment, biomedical and textile dyeing/printing sectors.

The existing aziridine production line in China was constructed in 2000, developed by Wuhan Qianglong New Chemical Materials Co., Ltd. The company owns nearly 20 varieties of aziridine and downstream products today. It has also successfully developed a new environmental friendly cross-linking agent trimethoylol propane tri(3-ethylene imino) propionate this year. (CCR2006, No. 13) Since the end of 2003, the company has invested more than RMB400 000 and increased the aziridine output from 10 tons to 100 tons a year.
